You think you know gravel, but do you really know gravel?
Thoughts of a peaceful drive through the country often conjure up images of gravel roads. But have you thought of the driveways? Most driveways in the country are topped with gravel because it is a somewhat inexpensive alternative to concrete. Now, think children and gravel –and bikes, and skates and scooters. Having grown up in the city with nice smooth concrete, I never mastered the skill of riding a bike on gravel, or some days walking on gravel for that matter, so I stopped trying long ago.
If you are a guy (and I’m sure many ladies too), you likely don’t think along the same lines as me and may actually enjoy riding a bike on gravel! You may be man like my husband who purchased a different bike to enhance his riding on gravel. Or a man like my husband who enjoys doing anything with his kids, including riding bikes with them. He loves to teach them new skills. Like how to change tires, build things out of wood, even how to pop wheelies on gravel . . .
