Can You Handle the Insects?
May 1st, 2009 • Related • Filed Under
I am having trouble focusing this morning. I’ve spent 45 minutes writing on three different articles and the words just aren’t flowing. So I’m changing gears. A picture post for you, displaying some common insects/bugs/spiders you will live alongside if you move to the country. Yes, you’re right, you DO have these bugs in town. But multiply the ‘town population’ many times over and think about it some more. Can you handle it?!

- Praying Mantis (my favorite!)
- Grasshopper
- Garden Spider
- Daddy Longleg
- Cicada
- Asian Lady Beetle (sorry, it is not a ladybug)

On a visit from town recently, my four year old grandson informed us that we had a bug farm. He meant it in a good way as he is fascinated with bugs, notices all of them and wants to take the nice ones home with him. I did box up some Asian beetles for him; his mother (my daughter) was not as thrilled as he was with his new pets. (The beetles love a slice of apple to eat.)
