Wolf Spider Information
Before I post anything educational (oh, fine … semi-educational), I perform some research to ensure what I think is fact is indeed fact (or at least commonly believed as fact). So like a good girl, I’ve been checking web sites that contain wolf spider information.
Do you care that these spiders have 8 eyes? Do you want to know that when wolf spiders hatch (spiderlings) they live on top of mom for a few weeks afterwards? These spiders live in holes that they’ve dug out and sometimes live under rocks. Wolf spiders actually hunt their prey, searching ground area for insects and other spiders to eat. These guys can bite and have venom, though it isn’t considered lethal. And they are hairy.
I am feeling pretty paranoid now, I have been dealing with lots of tickles & itches from reading and writing about the wolf spider. My peripheral vision continues to note small movements, that upon further investigation, reveals nothing more than a mind playing tricks. I must end this article now.
Footnote: I do not have a site category for “arachnids” and I do not intend to add one. Due to the size of this spider & the number of hair follicles involved they most certainly belong in the rodent category.
